Product advice

The most important reference points when buying tires are the tire diameter and width. The diameter always corresponds to the mounted wheel size, for example 27.5 or 29 inches. The width is somewhat flexible.

The only important thing is not to choose a tire that is so wide that it rubs against the side of the frame or fork. You can be on the safe side if you use the same tire width as before.

When it comes to tire width, people's preferences are very individual. In general, most people are usually satisfied with one of the following:
- Standard front tire width: 2.4 - 2.6
- Standard rear tire width: 2.3 - 2.5

When choosing the right inner tube, you should make sure that the tube is intended by the manufacturer for the diameter and width of the tire. As a rule, bicycle tubes always cover a certain size range because they are relatively flexible.

Different sizes are common for tires and inner tubes:
The classic specification in inches (diameter x width): e.g. 28 x 1.25.

The more modern ETRTO specification in millimeters (width - diameter): e.g. 35 - 622.

Alternative size designations: e.g. 700C.

In general, a distinction is made between Auto (AV), Dunlop (DV) and French valves/Presta valves (SV).

The most common today in enduro and downhill for tubeless and tubing is the Presta valve (SV).
